Not patients, the ambulance was filled with alcohol! Police arrested two with 47 boxes of liquor

In a surprising case of illegal liquor smuggling in Agra, police arrested two smugglers who used an ambulance to transport alcohol instead of patients.

In Agra, police uncovered a shocking case of illegal liquor trafficking where smugglers used an ambulance as a cover to avoid scrutiny. Typically used for transporting patients to hospitals, the ambulance was repurposed by these criminals to facilitate their illicit trade. Police arrested two cunning suspects from the area of Basai Arela while seizing several million rupees worth of illegal English liquor hidden inside the vehicle.

According to ACP Girish Kumar, the police had received a tip-off regarding the supply of illegal liquor branded from Haryana. Acting on this intelligence, a checking operation was initiated in the area, which led to the interception of a suspicious ambulance. When questioned, the ambulance driver claimed it was a hospital vehicle on its way to pick up a patient from another facility, raising suspicions among the officers.

During the checks, the truth was revealed as police discovered a large quantity of liquor concealed within the ambulance. This incident not only highlights the innovative tactics employed by smugglers to carry out their operations but also underscores the pressing issues of illegal alcohol trade and law enforcement challenges in the region.
