Wants 32.5 million for Geilo cabin
Turkish power analyst Burak Tutar and his wife Anne Solhaug Tutar are selling their luxury cabin in Geilo for 32.5 million Norwegian kroner.
Turkish power analyst Burak Tutar and his wife, entrepreneur Anne Solhaug Tutar, have listed their luxurious cabin in Geilo for sale at the price of 32.5 million Norwegian kroner. This cabin was previously sold for 22.6 million kroner in 2021 and was bought by the couple for 25.3 million kroner in February 2023, indicating that they expect to make a profit of over seven million kroner from this sale. The cabin, built in 2020, features 443 square meters of living space, including eight bedrooms, four bathrooms, a cinema room, a gym, and its own spa section.
According to real estate agent Jannike Seljevoll Herleiksplass from Privatmegleren, there is currently a trend where more cabins are being put on the market than are being sold in certain segments, though she notes an uptick in activity during the winter holidays. Her agency experienced a busy viewing day recently and successfully sold several cabins, particularly to Swedish and German buyers, which reflects a growing interest from international purchasers in the Norwegian cabin market. This surge can be attributed to factors such as the popularity of Norway as a winter destination and the appeal of luxury properties in scenic locations like Geilo.
The dynamics of the real estate market in Norway's cabin sector showcase not only local investment trends but also the increasing involvement of foreign investors, which might be indicative of broader economic trends. As mountain resorts like Geilo gain recognition, the potential for further appreciation in property value can encourage more listings, even as the supply-demand balance fluctuates. This might soon make the cabin market in Geilo an attractive option for a wider audience looking for both personal retreats and lucrative real estate investments.
