FHC Foundation recovers and makes available archives of the interview program from the redemocratization

The FHC Foundation has made available the archives of the interview program "Vamos Sair da Crise," which featured discussions with political, religious, and social leaders during Brazil's redemocratization period.

The Fernando Henrique Cardoso Foundation announced the release of archival footage from the interview show "Vamos Sair da Crise," which aired during Brazil's transition to democracy in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Directed and presented by journalist Alexandre Machado, the program included interviews with key political, religious, and social figures of the time, documenting their perspectives during a critical juncture in Brazilian history.

The project, titled "Cenas da Redemocratização," saw the digital restoration and cataloging of 126 VHS recordings, which will now be accessible on the Foundation's YouTube channel. This initiative preserves invaluable historical content and aims to foster a deeper understanding of the circumstances that shaped modern Brazil by making these interviews available to the public.

In conjunction with the archives' release, a debate will be held on the same day at the Foundation's headquarters in São Paulo, featuring significant figures like writer and journalist Fernando Gabeira, journalist Eliane Cantanhêde, and Alexandre Machado himself. The discussion will be moderated by Sergio Fausto, the Foundation's director, and will draw connections between the past events of redemocratization and the current socio-political climate in Brazil.
