The concentration of participants started at 7 a.m. in a designated area for mega blocos, signaling the popularity of this event among locals and tourists alike. The route spans from Rua Primeiro de Março toward Avenida Presidente Antônio Carlos, an area known for its historic buildings, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
By 9 a.m., the atmosphere was electrified as Anitta welcomed notable musician Carlinhos Brown to the trio elétrico, further energizing the crowd. With an estimated attendance of around 100,000 fans anticipated for the performance, the excitement was palpable. Fans expressed their appreciation for Anitta, highlighting her cultural significance and representation of Brazil, with social worker Thiago Alves stating, "It's to close out the Carnival," reflecting the event's importance in Brazilian culture.
The official circuit of Rio's blocos will conclude on Sunday, February 22, with Monobloco set to be a significant highlight in the city's center.
