On Tuesday, February 17, Rio de Janeiro will host a vibrant Carnival with a minimum of 52 scheduled blocks, showcasing the city's cultural richness and diversity. One of the highlights will be the Fervo da Lud, a mega-block led by popular singer Ludmilla, which has been held since 2018. After a hiatus in 2021 and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year marks the seventh edition of Ludmilla's mega-block; the city is anticipating a massive turnout of around 600,000 people, filling the streets with music and dance during this festive period.

In addition to Ludmilla's block, several other popular and traditional events will enrich the Carnival experience in Rio. Other morning blocks include Bagunça Meu Coreto in Flamengo and Bloco Beco das Garrafas in Copacabana, showing the variety of themes and styles that characterize this celebration. The importance of tradition is evidenced by the presence of renowned blocks like the Carmelitas, who delight spectators with their unique outfits, and the Banda de Ipanema, which will be parading through the streets of the South Zone in its 61st edition, highlighting the historical significance of these events in Rio's Carnival festivities.

This year's Carnival is not only a celebration of music and fun but also a cultural expression that brings people together, reinforcing community bonds while showcasing Brazil's rich heritage. The city government’s preparations indicate a careful effort to ensure safety and public enjoyment as the festivities unfold, contributing to the overall experience of joy and togetherness that defines Carnival in Brazil.
