A person has been airlifted to the hospital following a serious traffic accident involving a passenger vehicle and a larger truck in Brønnøy, Norway.
A traffic accident occurred on County Road 60 in Brønnøy, Norway, involving a passenger car and a larger vehicle, resulting in significant material damage and injuries. All emergency services were dispatched to the scene following reports of the incident. According to police operations leader Remi Johansen, three individuals were involved in the accident, with one person sustaining injuries severe enough to require air ambulance transport to the hospital in Sandnessjøen.
Initial investigations suggest that a trailer may have swerved, leading to the passenger vehicle colliding with the trailer. This serious collision left the passenger car on its side beside the road while the truck blocked one lane of the highway. Police confirmed that two of the individuals involved seemed physically unhurt, whereas the third, who was airlifted, is receiving medical assistance.
As efforts are ongoing to clear the scene, tow trucks and contractors are en route to assist with the situation, and traffic management is being conducted manually to ensure safety for the passing vehicles. The incident has raised concerns over road safety and the implications of vehicular incidents in rural Norwegian areas, highlighting the importance of prompt emergency response services in such situations.
