A boat is sinking between Bugøynes and Vadsø, with three people on board working to remove water while rescue efforts are underway.

A vessel is currently sinking between Bugøynes and Vadsø, and there are three individuals on board who are actively engaged in bailing out water. According to Tore Holmseth, rescue leader at the Main Rescue Centre of Northern Norway, the situation remains unclear as police assess the developments. Emergency services have responded with a rescue helicopter dispatched from Finnmark police district to assist in the situation.

The weather conditions at sea have raised concerns regarding the effectiveness of the helicopter's response, as noted by operational leader Theodor Weberg-Ellingsen in a police log entry. Two boats are currently en route from Bugøynes, but the challenging weather has introduced significant uncertainty about the helicopter’s ability to navigate to the scene safely. The rescue operation is complicated by the conditions, highlighting the difficulties faced during maritime emergencies.

As part of the rescue operation, a helicopter from the air ambulance has maintained visual contact with the distressed vessel and is guiding a civilian RIB boat towards it for assistance. It has been reported that the targeted vessel is still afloat, but the situation remains critical, necessitating coordinated efforts from various rescue teams.
