Russia Attacks Ukraine with One Missile and 120 Drones

Russia launched an attack on Ukraine using a ballistic missile and 120 drones, with significant interception by Ukrainian air defense forces.

In a recent escalation of the ongoing conflict, Russia carried out an assault on Ukraine during the night, utilizing a highly advanced Iskander-M ballistic missile and a large number of drones, totaling 120. Ukrainian air defense forces responded effectively, managing to intercept and neutralize 106 of the incoming aerial threats. Among the types of drones deployed were various models, including the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas drones, with the Shahed model being particularly prominent in the attack.

The assault resulted in damage across multiple locations, impacting both civilian infrastructure and residential areas. Reports indicate that there were confirmed hits from one missile and 13 drones across 11 sites, leading to injuries in the Odesa region, where two individuals were wounded, and significant damage was incurred on energy and civil infrastructures. Notable collateral damage included the destruction of at least five private homes, an apartment building with four apartments, and some garages and vehicles. An educational institution was also partially destroyed in the city as a result of the strikes.

In the Sumy city area, the attack yielded further casualties, with three people injured—two of whom were children. The police reported substantial destruction, with two residential buildings completely devastated and at least ten nearby homes damaged, alongside a gas pipeline that was affected. This incident exemplifies the severe implications of sustained air assaults on Ukraine's infrastructure and the ongoing humanitarian concerns arising from conflicts in the region, as civilians continue to bear the brunt of military confrontations.
