A 43-year-old man in Brazil was arrested after he sent threatening audio messages to his wife while she was at a police station in Conceição das Alagoas, reporting prior assaults he inflicted on her. The wife had gone to the authorities to seek protection following a violent incident during which her partner physically assaulted her, leading to visible injuries that were confirmed by a medical examination.

On the morning following the assault, as she was documenting her experience and the threats she received, the husband, instead of staying away, continued to send his wife numerous WhatsApp audio messages in which he claimed he would kill her and set fire to their house with her inside. His behavior was alarming and indicative of the escalating threat towards her safety, prompting the need for immediate police intervention.

Eventually, law enforcement located the man hiding under the bed at their shared residence. The police confirmed that he was apprehended without incident.
