Was it better under PiS or is it better under KO? Poles responded
An opinion poll indicates mixed sentiments among Poles regarding their quality of life since the Coalition Obywatelska took power.
A recent survey conducted by UCE Research for the Onet portal evaluated public opinion on the quality of life in Poland under the rule of the Koalicja Obywatelska (KO) compared to the previous government led by Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (PiS). Respondents were asked whether their personal living conditions had improved since the KO assumed power over two years ago. The findings revealed that 28.2% of those surveyed felt their situation had improved, while a significant proportion, 33.2%, reported a perceived decline since the PiS era.
The poll also reflected a divided opinion on who provided better governance, with 32.2% of respondents indicating they saw no difference between the PiS and KO governments. Among those who experienced a decline, 22.8% claimed their situation had "rather worsened," and 10.4% reported that it had "definitely worsened." In contrast, only 11.8% noted a "definite improvement" in their circumstances, further showcasing the mixed feelings towards the current administration.
These findings underscore the challenges the KO faces in terms of public perception and approval, as a considerable number of Poles express dissatisfaction with their current living conditions compared to the previous government. This situation raises questions about the effectiveness of the current policies and how they resonate with the Polish population, potentially influencing future political dynamics in the country.
