Mistra's handball team kicked off their Baltic Sea League tournament on Friday at Raasiku Sports Hall, facing off against Lithuania's CASCADA - HC Garliava SC. The match began with Mistra dominating early on, establishing a significant 11:2 lead by the 18th minute. However, as the first half progressed, the Lithuanian team started to gain momentum, keeping the pace up in the second half. Mistra faced challenges as they committed several technical errors during the initial attacks of the second half, an opportunity that the opponents readily exploited.
The Estonian team regained their footing around the 10-minute mark of the second half, but the match remained intense as the lead shrank significantly. In the final minutes, CASCADA exerted pressure to shift the score in their favor, but the game concluded with Mistra clinching a narrow 31:30 victory. Daniela Tuusis, a crucial player for Mistra, expressed relief and joy, stating, "I’m completely exhausted; the entire team is very happy about this extremely important win."
