Zackrisson, who has been skating daily during his vacation, mentions that the combination of solid ice and sunny weather enabled them to see as far as ten meters below the surface, enhancing their skating experience immensely. The absence of typical frost flowers that obstruct visibility contributed to the perfect day on the ice.

On a recent excursion starting from Medevi on the eastern shore, they ventured towards Stora Röknen island, drawn by memories of shipwrecks lying beneath the water.
