Weekend Weather Calling for Spring Flowers…Daytime High of 18 Degrees, Beware of Temperature Differences

The weather forecast for Saturday indicates a warm day with temperatures reaching up to 18 degrees Celsius, but people should be aware of significant temperature fluctuations.

On Saturday, March 21, weather reports indicate that daytime temperatures will rise to a pleasant high of 18 degrees Celsius, surpassing the average seasonal maximum of 5 to 11 degrees. Across the nation, temperatures are expected to remain above 15 degrees in most areas during the day, providing a hint of spring weather. However, while the overall outlook is generally clear, the metropolitan area and Gangwon Province may experience some cloudy periods.

Despite the pleasant temperatures, conditions in the southeastern and eastern coastal regions, particularly in Gangwon Province, will be extremely dry. A marked difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures, which can exceed 15 degrees, poses potential health issues, emphasizing the need for public health precautions. Additionally, strong winds averaging 55 km/h will brush across most regions in the afternoon, with gusts reaching up to 70 km/h in specific mountainous and coastal areas, amplifying concerns over dry conditions.

Furthermore, a dry weather advisory has been issued for the eastern coast of Gangwon, eastern Jeolla, the southeastern region, and some southern parts of Chungbuk, highlighting the risk of wildfires. The combination of dryness and strong winds necessitates enhanced fire prevention awareness among the public. As for air quality, fine dust levels are predicted to be poor in metropolitan areas and Gangwon's Yeongseo region, while other areas will likely experience good to moderate air quality.
