A tank truck tipped over in Sacomã, São Paulo, crushing a car; thankfully, no injuries were reported despite a significant fuel leak.
On Friday afternoon, a tank truck accident occurred on Dom Vilares Street in the Sacomã neighborhood of São Paulo, Brazil. Video footage captured the moment when the truck lost its balance and fell onto a stationary car, completely crushing it. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the incident, which was recorded by the Military Fire Department of the State of São Paulo around 12:43 PM.
Emergency teams quickly responded to the scene and determined that the accident involved a bitrem truck, which spilled etanol fuel due to the tipping over of one of its trailers. The dangerous situation prompted officials to isolate the area to safely manage the fuel leak, as around 60,000 liters of fuel were on board, with 35,000 liters in the downed trailer. Additionally, a second tank truck was dispatched to assist in transferring the fuel in order to prevent any risks of fire or explosion caused by the fuel spillage.
The incident highlights serious safety concerns surrounding large transport vehicles in urban areas, particularly the potential hazards they pose during accidents. While there were no victims this time, the event illustrates the need for stringent safety protocols and emergency response measures in place to handle such incidents effectively.
