Switzerland has initiated an operation to provide crucial energy equipment to Ukraine to assist in the recovery of its energy infrastructure, which has been significantly damaged. This endeavor, backed by a comprehensive support package from the Swiss Federal Council, marks a substantial development in international aid efforts focused on Ukraine. The first lorries loaded with energy infrastructure supplies are currently on their way, reflecting the urgency and importance of restoring essential services in the war-torn country.

The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs announced that the total value of the assistance amounts to CHF 32 million (approximately €35 million). This delivery is part of ongoing efforts to bolster Ukraine's energy system, especially as Ukraine has previously secured agreements for decommissioned energy equipment from various European sources.
