Attack of bees upon hitting the hive, three dozen students injured

A sudden attack by bees injured around three dozen schoolgirls during an educational excursion in Prayagraj, India.

In Prayagraj, a swarm of bees caused panic when they attacked students from Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls' School during a day trip to Chandrashekhar Azad Park. The incident occurred when one of the students threw stones at a beehive, provoking the bees to become aggressive and swarm the girls. Around thirty-six students sustained injuries in the chaos that ensued.

As the bees attacked, a scene of panic erupted in the park with students screaming in pain. Teachers and other adults present quickly moved the children to safety. Local authorities were promptly alerted, leading to the immediate hospitalization of the injured students at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital. Medical staff provided treatment to the girls, and after initial care, all were reported to be safe and sent home.

This incident raises awareness about the dangers of provoking wildlife and highlights the importance of caution during outdoor school activities. While all affected students are out of danger now, such occurrences can lead to serious consequences if preventive measures are not taken in future school excursions.
