The Brazilian Federal Revenue has opened consultations for a residual batch of income tax refunds totaling R$ 578.97 million, with payments scheduled for February 27, 2026.
The Brazilian Federal Revenue (Receita Federal) announced the opening of consultations for the residual lot of income tax refunds on February 20, 2026. This batch, which comprises 204,824 refunds, includes both priority and non-priority taxpayers, amounting to a total of R$ 578,974,901.07. This news comes as part of the annual income tax refund process, allowing taxpayers to check the status of their refunds.
Of the total funds allocated, R$ 337,697,578.81 will be directed to legally prioritized taxpayers, which includes various specific groups such as the elderly and individuals with disabilities. Specifically, there are provisions for 6,632 refunds for individuals over 80 years old, 39,290 for those aged between 60 and 79, and 3,264 for disabled individuals. Additionally, 10,735 refunds are being issued to teachers who primarily earn their income from teaching, reflecting the government's recognition of these groups' needs in terms of financial support.
Moreover, the Receita Federal indicated that an additional 127,585 refunds are designated for non-priority taxpayers who have benefitted from pre-filled declarations or have opted to receive their refunds via Pix, a popular payment method in Brazil. This process not only aims to expedite the refund process but also encourages the use of modern payment solutions. As the payment day approaches, the Receita is ensuring transparency and accessibility for Brazilians to claim their rightful refunds efficiently.
