Operation targets addresses used as logistical support for a criminal faction in MT

The Brazilian Civil Police launched an operation targeting a criminal faction active in several cities in Mato Grosso, executing multiple arrests and search warrants.

On Friday, October 19th, the Brazilian Civil Police conducted a targeted operation against a criminal faction based in Cáceres, São José do Rio Claro, and Cuiabá. During the operation, police executed five arrest warrants and eight search and seizure warrants, while also implementing measures for banking secrecy removal to gather necessary evidence. The operation aims to disrupt the organization’s activities and informants on their operational structures.

Key to this operation was the identification of specific addresses linked to the criminal group. These locations reportedly served as logistical support sites for the faction, utilized for storing drugs and firearms, as well as providing temporary accommodation for criminals. Such facilities act as strategic points for the criminal organization's operations, significantly hampering law enforcement's ability to take down the group.

The police highlighted that one of the main targets, a 32-year-old man, was identified after a video surfaced on social media showing him promoting the criminal faction. The aim of these searches is not only to collect evidence but also to destabilize the faction's operational framework, ultimately leading to a reduction in its influence and activities in the regions where it operates.
