IBS Management Committee will have an independent verification system linked to a single portal

The IBS Management Committee in Brazil plans to implement an integrated portal for streamlined tax services this year.

The IBS Management Committee (CGIBS) has outlined its priorities for the year, which include the development of models for all fiscal documents, systems for tax collection, and the integration of taxpayer registries. Luiz Dias, an advisor from the Alagoas State Finance Department and head of the working group for the committee's institutional structure, provided insights on the advancements that will be rolled out in the coming months.

One of the key initiatives is the creation of a consolidated portal as part of the tax reform aimed at consumption. This portal is envisioned as a single point of access for taxpayers to utilize services offered by both the Revenue Service and the IBS Management Committee. Dias emphasized that this approach is significantly simpler than the current system, which requires businesses to navigate numerous different portals across the country.

With a single-login system, taxpayers will be able to check their tax calculations and compliance more efficiently. This development marks a significant step forward in enhancing taxpayer services and improving administrative efficiency in the government's approach to tax management, reflecting broader aims of modernizing Brazil's tax system for better accountability and ease of use.
