Agreement for urban services signed between the Uberaba City Hall and Convale
The Uberaba City Hall has signed an agreement with the Intermunicipal Consortium for Regional Development (Convale) to provide urban infrastructure services.
The City Hall of Uberaba has officially signed a convention with the Intermunicipal Consortium for Regional Development, known as Convale, to facilitate urban infrastructure services. This agreement is documented in the city’s official publication, Porta-Voz, and is set to last for one year. The City Hall has stipulated that financial transfers to Convale will only occur if the services agreed upon are actively utilized. Furthermore, the Municipal Water and Sanitation Company (Codau) will act as an intermediary, managing any necessary financial disbursements.
Under this agreement, Convale assumes responsibility for the procurement of necessary equipment and contracting companies to carry out the specified activities, ensuring compliance with public service bidding processes. Convale itself is a consortium that includes 14 municipalities within the Southern Triangle region, involving collaboration among these local governments to optimize resources and manage shared projects effectively. The consortium has an established practice of conducting bids to procure essential materials such as cement, sand, and gravel, which are key components for infrastructure development.
The communication department of Uberaba's city hall highlighted that the municipalities involved in the consortium will have the opportunity to utilize these services, which may enhance the efficiency of urban development across the region. This collaboration aims to bolster local infrastructure, thereby improving public services and making better use of government resources across the consortium. The agreement illustrates the strengthening of intermunicipal collaboration in urban planning and development efforts, seeking to address common challenges faced by local governments in the area.
