In a significant announcement during the assembly session, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has declared an increase in the monthly honorarium for Shiksha Mitras (educational facilitators) from ₹10,000 to ₹18,000, effective from April 2026. This decision is expected to benefit around 150,000 Shiksha Mitras who are currently working on a contractual basis in the state. Additionally, the honorarium for instructors has also been raised to ₹17,000 per month. Such measures aim to enhance the financial stability of these educators who play a crucial role in the state's education system.
