The End of Soul, Food, Energy, and Chakra Psychologists. Expert on New Rules

New regulations in Poland aim to enhance the psychological service market by introducing stricter guidelines and regulations for practitioners.

For years, the psychological service market in Poland has operated without effective regulations, leading to abuses and activities by individuals lacking proper qualifications. There have been instances of diploma forgery, impersonation of psychologists, and even unqualified individuals offering services under the National Health Fund (NFZ). The new legislation seeks to ensure greater transparency and patient safety, though full implementation will take over two years.

The planned changes were discussed in an interview with Katarzyna Sarnicka from the National Trade Union of Psychologists, highlighting a clear direction towards limiting pseudopsychology. The new regulations will restrict individuals using unverified methods or titles lacking credibility, such as 'energy psychologists' and those employing methods like chakras or quantum therapy, which have not been scientifically validated. These measures are designed to protect patients and improve the overall quality of psychological services available in Poland.

As part of this regulatory shift, the Ministry of Health is also examining the proposed pay increases for medical professionals originally scheduled for July. This comprehensive approach aims to not only regulate qualifications within psychology but also to enhance the overall healthcare ecosystem in Poland, ensuring that practitioners provide legitimate and effective care to their patients.
