The Polish Ministry of Education has stated that there will be no compensation for local governments that voluntarily organize additional religious education lessons beyond the mandated one hour per week.
Starting in September 2025, changes have been implemented regarding the organization of religious education in Polish schools, which currently holds a structure of one lesson per week. Barbara Nowacka, a prominent official, emphasized that the national government does not consider it necessary to provide financial reimbursement to local governments that decide to offer additional religious lessons using their own funds. This statement from the Ministry of Education represents a firm stance on local governance decisions regarding education.
