India has joined the newly formed US-led Pax Silica alliance, a strategic partnership aimed at securing global supply chains for artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, and critical minerals. The official signing of the Pax Silica declaration took place during the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, which highlights the growing significance of AI technologies and related industries in the global economy. The alliance includes other countries such as Australia, Greece, Israel, Japan, Qatar, South Korea, Singapore, the UAE, and the UK, while notable non-signatory participants include Canada, the EU, the Netherlands, OECD, and Taiwan.

The US State Department emphasized that India's inclusion in Pax Silica recognizes its potential as a key player in advancing semiconductor manufacturing and enhancing the overall resilience of the silicon supply chain. During the signing ceremony, US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, remarked on India's critical role in contributing to the objectives of the alliance. As a growing technology hub, India is stepping into a pivotal position that could strengthen bilateral relations with the United States and support global efforts in technological development.
