A Vilnius man, identified as S. A., is facing legal proceedings after allegedly selling drugs that nearly resulted in the death of a 30-year-old woman. The incident took place last summer, when S. A. sold unknown quantities of narcotics, specifically carfentanil and methadone, to P. J., another man from Utena, in the staircase of their apartment building. Swift medical intervention was required to save the woman's life after her consumption of these substances.

The case is being overseen by prosecutor Mindaugas Rimkus from the Panevėžys District Prosecutor's Office, specifically within the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Division. The investigation was conducted by officers from the Criminal Police Department of the Utena County Chief Police Commissariat. During a subsequent police search, a substantial quantity of the aforementioned narcotics was discovered, further implicating S. A. in the illegal drug trade.
