Lappeenranta SaiPa significantly raises ticket prices for the upcoming season – one season ticket increases by 288 euros
SaiPa hockey club is raising its ticket and season pass prices substantially for the upcoming season, citing increased operational costs.
The Lappeenranta SaiPa hockey club has announced a notable increase in ticket and season pass prices for the next season, with an approximate 20% rise in costs. This price hike is attributed to a significant increase in sports-related expenses, expected to soar by about a third. For example, a standing room ticket will go up by four euros, with seated ticket prices starting at 38 euros next season compared to 25 euros this season.
Among the most impacted are the C3 and C6 sections, where prices will ascend dramatically. Last season, the season ticket for the C3 section was priced at 650 euros, but it will escalate to 938 euros for the upcoming season, marking a staggering increase of 288 euros or around 44%. Such pricing adjustments are crucial for the club, as they aim to build a competitive team in the SM-liiga amidst anticipated financial challenges due to changes in the league's structure.
The upcoming season's changes in the SM-liiga structure are expected to present great financial challenges for clubs, including SaiPa. If SaiPa's number of matches increases due to these changes, the club might face even more substantial financial implications. Hence, the increase in ticket prices reflects an urgent strategy to counterbalance rising operational costs while striving to enhance team competitiveness in the league.
