20 Degrees Difference – in Six Hours: "Difficult to Dress"
A rapid temperature shift of up to 20 degrees Celsius within six hours is causing challenges for people dressing appropriately for the day in southern Sweden.
A drastic weather change has been observed in southern Sweden, with temperatures plunging to minus 20 degrees Celsius in the morning and rising to around zero degrees by afternoon. Meteorologist Lasse Rydqvist commented on the difficulty this presents for residents, especially those commuting to work and later going for a walk. He suggests people may need to dress in layers or carry additional clothing to adapt to the swift temperature changes.
The current weather pattern is attributed to a phenomenon referred to as 'Rysskyla' (Russian cold), which has been pushing warmer air northward, resulting in significant fluctuations in local temperatures. Rydqvist mentions that while extreme temperature changes are common in mountainous areas, they are less frequent in the southern parts of the country, highlighting the unusual nature of this particular weather event.
As temperatures rise, there is also a possibility of icy conditions developing, posing further challenges for those on the road. The rapid change in weather could impact travel and outdoor activities, and meteorologists are advising caution as people adjust to the precarious conditions throughout the day.
