Vandals Massively Damaged Cars in Vilnius City and District
Vandals caused significant damage to multiple vehicles in Vilnius, leading to police investigations.
On February 19, a woman born in 2003 reported to the Vilnius County Police Headquarters that on February 18, around 10:45 PM, she became a victim of vandalism in Juodšiliai village, where the exterior parts of her BMW car were damaged for an estimated loss of about 1,350 euros. This incident was attributed to hooliganism.
On the same night, at approximately 10:20 PM in a parking lot on Kalvarijų Street in Vilnius, a group of young people defaced six vehicles, including a VW Caddy, Toyota Corolla, Volvo V70, VW Golf, VW Multivan, and Audi Q3. This widespread act of vandalism highlights a troubling trend of youth criminality in the area, raising concerns among local residents and law enforcement.
In response to these incidents, pre-trial investigations have been initiated to identify and apprehend those responsible for the vandalism. The local police are likely to increase their visibility and patrols in an effort to deter similar events in the future and reassure the community about their safety and security.
