Lee Hae-in made a remarkable debut at the 2026 Winter Olympics by finishing eighth in the women's singles free skating with her season-best performance.

In her debut at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, South Korean figure skater Lee Hae-in (21, Korea University) delivered an outstanding performance in the women's singles free skating event, achieving her personal season-high score of 140.49 points, which included a technical score of 74.15 and an artistic score of 66.34. Following her performance, she proudly skated off the ice with her arms raised, making a heart gesture for the cheering audience, and ultimately secured a spot in the top 10 rankings by finishing eighth overall with a total score of 210.56 after adding her short program score of 70.07 points.

Competing alongside fellow skater Shin Ji-a (18, Sehwa High School), who also showcased a strong performance, the latter recorded a score of 141.02 points, surpassing her previous season best of 133.98. After combining her short program score of 65.66, Shin Ji-a ended up with a total of 206.68 points and placed 11th. Following her performance, she expressed joy and satisfaction as she nodded appreciatively in response to her new season-high score, while attending competitors Cha Jun-hwan and Kwon Ye contributed to a warm atmosphere by applauding her first Olympic experience from the crowd.
