Two new arrests from the 'Million Gang': one was wanted for robbing the influencer grandmother

Authorities have arrested two teenagers associated with the 'Million Gang' in connection with a series of robberies, including the robbery of 82-year-old influencer Mónica Mancini.

Authorities in Argentina have arrested two teenagers, aged 15 and 17, connected to a notorious group known as the 'Million Gang,' which has been involved in a series of robberies in the northern suburbs of Buenos Aires. One of the arrested escaped capture for a long time and was linked to the robbery of 82-year-old influencer Mónica Mancini, who was targeted earlier this year. Both teenagers were apprehended following undercover operations in Tigre and San Isidro, areas that have seen a spike in such criminal activities.

The 17-year-old suspect had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Juvenile Criminal Responsibility Prosecutor's Office of San Isidro, and upon his capture, he has been placed in a juvenile facility in La Plata. His accomplice, who was also arrested during the police operations, is 18 years old, indicating a mix of juvenile and adult criminal involvement in this gang's actions. Law enforcement is keen on continuing investigations to apprehend more members of the 'Million Gang' and curb the increasing trend of violent robberies in the region.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns about crime in Argentina, especially as it involves vulnerable individuals such as elderly influencers who may be targeted for their perceived wealth and social media presence. The case may lead to discussions around policing strategies in suburban areas and the treatment of juvenile offenders within the Argentine legal system.
