The Vice-Governor of Minas Gerais announced R$ 100 million in investments for infrastructure improvements in Juiz de Fora, São João del Rei, and Ponte Nova during his visit.
On October 19, the Vice-Governor of Minas Gerais, Mateus Simões, visited Juiz de Fora to announce a significant investment of R$ 100 million aimed at enhancing infrastructure in three key cities: Juiz de Fora, São João del Rei, and Ponte Nova. Out of this total, R$ 14 million will be allocated to Juiz de Fora, specifically targeting the Industrial District, which is set to undergo improvements in street paving, enhanced lighting, and renovations of the storm drainage system to mitigate flooding concerns.
The remaining funds are earmarked for São João del Rei and Ponte Nova, each receiving approximately R$ 45 million and R$ 41 million respectively. The investments in these two cities are primarily focused on road improvements, which are essential for supporting local transportation and economic activities. This announcement was made during an event attended by local industry representatives and the Deputy Nikolas Ferreira, indicating a collaborative effort between government and industry.
This initiative reflects the government's commitment to enhancing infrastructure in the Zona da Mata and Campo das Vertentes regions, addressing long-standing issues related to transportation and public services. The improvements are expected to help stimulate local economies and improve the quality of life for residents, demonstrating the importance of such investments in promoting regional development.
