Two women die after being run over while walking in southern Bahia
Two women were killed after being struck by a pickup truck while walking in Itamarati, Ibirapitanga, southern Bahia.
In a tragic incident on Wednesday, two 27-year-old women identified as Daniela Cardim Santos and Kaline Santos de Souza were killed after being hit by a pickup truck on BR-101 in Itamarati, Ibirapitanga. The women were friends and were out for a walk when the accident occurred, resulting in their deaths at the scene. A third woman, who was also struck, sustained only minor injuries and has since been discharged from the hospital.
Following the incident, the pickup truck involved was found abandoned a few kilometers away from the accident site, raising questions about the driverβs whereabouts. Evidence collected at the scene confirmed that a piece of the vehicle belonged to the abandoned truck. This situation highlights the ongoing concerns regarding road safety, particularly in areas frequented by pedestrians.
