New air connectivity and World Cup will boost tourism rebound in Los Cabos
The Los Cabos Tourism Trust (Fiturca) predicts a 2% growth in traveler arrivals this year, driven by the World Cup and new international air connectivity.
The Los Cabos Tourism Trust (Fiturca) has announced an expected 2% increase in traveler arrivals for this year, a significant uptick attributed to the impending World Cup and expanded international air routes. In a conference, Fiturca's director general, Rodrigo Esponda, emphasized that this growth far exceeds the 0.6% increase recorded in 2025, showcasing an exciting trend for the local tourism sector.
Esponda noted that Los Cabos is well-connected, with direct flights to 14 of the 16 World Cup host cities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This improved accessibility is set to enhance travel opportunities, particularly for soccer fans attending matches. The expectation is that these visitors will not only engage in the World Cup festivities but also take advantage of the beautiful beaches and other tourist attractions that Los Cabos has to offer.
Furthermore, Fiturca's strategy involves capitalizing on increased flight connections to various destinations. This dual focus on sporting events and leisure travel positions Los Cabos as a competitive travel destination amid ongoing economic recovery. The influx of tourists is seen as an optimism boost for the local economy, aligning with broader efforts to promote sustainable and interactive tourism experiences in the region.
