General strike: open businesses, but with fewer customers and delivery as a refuge in the City

During a general strike, Buenos Aires businesses remained open but experienced a significant drop in customer traffic, relying on delivery services for sales.

On the day of the general strike organized by the CGT, businesses in Buenos Aires managed to stay operational despite the lack of public transport affecting customer turnout. According to a survey by the Federation of Commerce and Industry of Buenos Aires (Fecoba), around 88% of stores opened their doors, driven by the necessity to cover fixed costs. However, the decline in customer presence impacted sales negatively, forcing many shops to adapt by relying on delivery platforms to maintain their revenue.
