Possible withdrawal of vehicles after the fire at Multicomercio will be analyzed in a technical table and with studies
Ecuadorian officials are considering the potential withdrawal of vehicles following a significant fire at the Multicomercio complex in Guayaquil that caused extensive damage.
Officials from the Risk Management department of the Public Municipal Security Company (Segura EP) held a meeting with those affected by the fire at the Multicomercio complex located in the central area of Guayaquil. Nearly a hundred people gathered at the Palacio de Cristal to express their concerns following the incident on February 11. The fire, which reached an alarming 'level 3' status, resulted in the partial collapse of a structure within a storage area exceeding 12,000 square meters.
Due to the severity of the fire, the surrounding area remains closed off to ensure safety. Among the attendees was Rita Salvador, a Peruvian resident on the seventh floor of Tower 3, who attended the meeting to learn what alternatives would be offered to those who lost everything in the disaster. She has been living in her apartment with her niece for about nine years and, while she cannot quantify her losses, she described the devastation faced by herself and other residents.
As authorities assess the damage and discuss future actions, including the potential withdrawal of vehicles from the vicinity of the Multicomercio complex, the meeting serves as a crucial platform for affected individuals to voice their concerns and seek support. The outcomes of these discussions and studies will have significant implications for the local community as they navigate the aftermath of this devastating fire.
