A recent robbery in the rural area of Teresina, Brazil, saw a family held hostage in their own home on the night of Wednesday, the 18th. Criminals targeted a farm in Chapadinha Sul, taking away two vehicles, jewelry, a revolver, a shotgun, and approximately R$ 13,000 in cash. During the ordeal, the family was locked in a bathroom while the assailants carried out the theft, which has raised concerns about safety in rural areas.

The local police, including a unit from Demerval Lobão, quickly intervened in the situation, with efforts led by Commander Moura. Notably, one of the stolen vehicles was recovered within hours in the nearby city of Altos, as reported by Lieutenant Colonel Alves, the commander of the Special Policing Battalion of the Interior (Bepi). This swift recovery demonstrates the police’s determination to resolve such cases efficiently, although the remaining stolen items and potential suspects are still being sought.
