Changes of electoral domicile will be available until May 13, 2026
Citizens in Ecuador can change their electoral domicile until May 13, 2026, ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ecuadorian citizens have the opportunity to change their electoral domicile for the upcoming elections set for 2027, with the deadline for this process extending until May 13, 2026. The electoral campaign is officially scheduled to start on April 14, 2026. These changes can be made at all national electoral delegations, Ecuadorian consulates abroad, or online, offering citizens multiple convenient methods to update their information.
The National Electoral Council (CNE) of Ecuador has introduced a new integrated system to facilitate the process of changing electoral domicile. This initiative is aimed at making it easier for citizens both within Ecuador and those living abroad to participate in the electoral process. The simplification of the procedure marks a significant effort by the CNE to enhance voter engagement and ensure that citizens have their correct electoral information before the important elections.
The changes recorded by the deadline will be applicable to the sectional elections and the Citizen Participation and Social Control Council (Cpccs) elections scheduled for February 14, 2027. This early announcement allows citizens ample time to check and update their voting data, reflecting the CNE's commitment to a transparent electoral process and the encouragement of active participation among voters.
