In recent weeks, the Širvintos District police have actively prevented drug trafficking, revealing several incidents involving individuals caught with suspicious substances. On January 30, police stopped a Škoda Octavia and found a plant-based material believed to be a narcotic substance on the driver. The driver attempted to dispose of the evidence by throwing it into the snow, where officers later discovered a medical mask containing a bag of white powder.
