Warm weather will continue to prevail in Mexico despite the approach of a new cold front

Mexican meteorological authorities forecast warm to hot weather across the country, with the upcoming cold front expected to bring strong winds and lower temperatures in the north.

Mexican meteorological authorities have reported that cold front 36 will move through the northern regions of the country, interacting with a jet stream, a dry line, and a low pressure channel. While the north will experience these changes, other parts of Mexico are expected to continue enjoying warm to hot conditions. Notably, several states including San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Hidalgo, and Michoacán remain under a heat wave that is likely to persist even as the colder conditions advance from the north.

In terms of temperature predictions, areas particularly affected by high heat include Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas, with maximum temperatures expected to rise between 35 to 40 °C. Other states such as Aguascalientes, Durango, and Quintana Roo are also forecasted to experience similarly high temperatures, indicating that much of the southern and central regions of Mexico will remain under the influence of warm air masses despite the changes brought by the incoming cold front.

As the new cold front approaches from the northwest, meteorologists warn of intensified wind gusts and significant drops in temperature, especially in the north. This system, associated with a polar jet stream, marks the transition from the prevailing warm conditions to potentially cooler weather, prompting preparations across affected regions to adapt to the changing climate dynamics, particularly for those vulnerable to extreme temperature fluctuations.
