A significant fire occurred in the Coração de Jesus neighborhood in Belo Horizonte, resulting in the total destruction of five vehicles, including a minibus that was part of the local transport line. The incident took place during the night of Wednesday, February 18, and quickly escalated as the flames spread from the initial vehicle to four others parked nearby, triggering concerns among local residents. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, as the minibus driver and passengers evacuated the vehicle upon sensing smoke.
The authorities, including the Corpo de Bombeiros (Fire Department), responded to the scene and confirmed that the fire started in the minibus, which services the route linking Morro das Pedras and Luxemburgo neighborhoods. Among the affected vehicles was a food trailer belonging to a local vendor who arrived to find his property completely destroyed. The heat from the fire was so intense that it shattered the windows of the nearby cars as well, highlighting the fire's ferocity.
As the fire also impacted the area's electrical network, some residents were left without power. Fortunately, the situation did not escalate further, as heavy rain began shortly after the fire started, helping to mitigate the flames. This incident underscores not only the potential dangers associated with vehicle fires but also the importance of prompt emergency response and community awareness to prevent injuries during such emergencies.
