The Vande Bharat train will soon run between Jammu and Srinagar, learn the railway's plan

The Vande Bharat Express train will soon connect Jammu to Srinagar, with construction at Jammu station nearly complete.

The Indian Railways is set to introduce the Vande Bharat Express train service between Jammu and Srinagar. Currently, the train operates from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar, and the long-awaited extension to Jammu is expected to commence soon. Sources indicate that construction work at the Jammu railway station, which has been a significant factor delaying the service, is nearing its completion, allowing for the train service initiation to proceed as planned.

This semi-high-speed Vande Bharat train is recognized as one of the fastest and most technologically advanced trains in India. It provides commuters with comfortable seating, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and efficient food and safety arrangements. The journey from Katra to Srinagar is already reduced to just over three hours, significantly cutting down the previous travel time of six to seven hours or more by road.

The delay in starting the service from Jammu to Srinagar was attributed to high-scale renovations being carried out at the Jammu station. These renovations include expanding platforms and enhancing passenger facilities while ensuring compliance with security regulations. With these improvements close to completion, the launch of the Vande Bharat train service is anticipated shortly, promising to enhance connectivity and travel experience in the region.
