India is stepping up its efforts to become a key player in the global artificial intelligence (AI) landscape by hosting a significant AI summit in New Delhi. The summit, attended by around 40 tech CEOs and several heads of state, including French President Emmanuel Macron, aims to showcase India's ambitions for technological advancement and its strategic vision for the future. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the focus of AI development is to transform India into a developed nation by 2047 and to provide a suitable model for the Global South. He expressed optimism and intention for India to emerge as one of the top three superpowers in AI.
