In a brazen act of robbery, a man broke into a home in the São Cristóvão neighborhood of Patrocínio, Brazil, early Friday morning. The suspect, who remains at large, startled a 52-year-old woman awake as he forced his way into her house by jumping over the wall and breaking down the door. Once inside, he demanded money from the victim, threatening her with a knife, which he used to pressure her while searching for valuables.
The Police Military (PM) reported that the thief specifically targeted a safe in the house. After the victim struggled to open it, the intruder escalated his threats and used a knife against her neck to enforce his demands. Ultimately, he made off with significant valuables, including R$ 37,000 in jewelry and R$ 14,150 in cash, along with a large 60-inch television screen. The incident highlights the increasing concern over home invasions in the area, which has led to rising anxiety among local residents about security.
