The police of Western Uusimaa have completed their preliminary investigation into an alleged murder that took place at the end of August 2025, where a 44-year-old man is accused of shooting his 31-year-old ex-partner to death in Espoo. The violent incident occurred on Friday, August 29, and the police report indicates that the suspect was tracking the woman's and their shared children's movements from early in the morning.

The confrontation occurred outside the woman's residence in the evening, and according to Ilta-Sanomat’s information, the victim was pregnant at the time of the incident, although the unborn child was not fathered by the suspect. The altercation began with a disagreement outside the apartment complex, after which the victim attempted to retreat inside the building. At this point, the suspect produced a firearm and fired multiple shots, some of which struck the apartment structure while others hit the victim, who died instantly.
