Russia damages boiler house in Lozova in Kharkiv Oblast which supplies nearly 16,000 consumers
Russian attacks in Kharkiv Oblast have damaged key infrastructure, including a boiler house that serves nearly 16,000 residents.
In a recent assault, Russian forces targeted the Lozova hromada in Kharkiv Oblast, causing significant damage to the community's largest boiler house and disrupting water supply facilities. Mayor Serhii Zelenskyi confirmed that the attack has resulted in the loss of power for the main boiler house, which is critical for providing heating in the region as temperatures drop below freezing.
Mayor Zelenskyi emphasized the urgent need for maintaining operational networks to ensure that residents receive adequate heating during this cold spell. He urged people to refrain from tampering with internal utility systems and reassured the community that Invincibility centres—designated areas with heating, food supplies, and power banks—are active to support those impacted by the ongoing power cuts.
The attack on the boiler house not only impacts the immediate community's comfort but also raises concerns over the continued degradation of essential services due to the ongoing conflict. As the winter months progress, adequate heating becomes increasingly vital, and disruptions in these essential services can exacerbate the challenges faced by the local population in Kharkiv Oblast.
