Russian attacks leave entire district in Kharkiv Oblast without power
Russian attacks have resulted in a complete power outage in the Lozova hromada of Kharkiv Oblast.
Following a series of Russian attacks on February 10, the Lozova hromada in Kharkiv Oblast has been left entirely without electricity. The attacks targeted critical energy infrastructure, exacerbating the ongoing challenges faced by the region due to the conflict. Serhii Zelenskyi, the head of the hromada, confirmed that the local community is currently reliant on alternative power sources to maintain essential services.
In his address to the public, Mayor Zelenskyi urged residents to remain calm as the community adjusts to the power loss. He reassured them that critical infrastructure, including medical facilities, continues to operate. In response to the crisis, local authorities have activated invincibility centres, which provide heating, phone charging, and stable communication access for residents coping with the outage.
The situation highlights the heightened vulnerability of Kharkiv Oblast amidst ongoing Russian aggression, particularly regarding the targeting of energy resources. The impact of such attacks not only disrupts daily life but also poses significant risks to public safety and health services. These developments underscore the strategic implications of the war and the increasing need for resilience among Ukrainian communities under threat.
