Theon: New order for delivery of night vision systems to the US Marine Corps
Theon has received a new delivery order for night vision systems from the US Marine Corps, extending production and supply through 2027.
Theon has announced a new delivery order for their Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggles (SBNVG) program, continuing their partnership with a US company to supply night vision systems to the US Marine Corps. This ongoing collaboration highlights Theonโs role as a key supplier of night vision technology, particularly in a semi knock-down kit form, which facilitates the final assembly and delivery in the US.
This new order represents the fourth consecutive delivery under a multi-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract originally awarded in 2023, which has a potential program value of around $500 million. The contract outlines a structured approach for consistent supply, which is crucial for military operations that depend on advanced vision technologies. Dr. Michalis Kolotos, Director of US Operations at THEON, emphasized that this order confirms the US Marine Corpsโ confidence in their products, showcasing the effectiveness and reliability of their night vision systems.
This continued partnership not only underscores the trust between the US Marine Corps and Theon but also reflects Greece's growing influence in the defense technology sector, particularly in delivering specialized systems crucial for modern warfare. The sustainable production timeline extending to 2027 indicates robust demand for such night vision systems, crucial for military readiness and operational capabilities in various scenarios supported by technological advancements.
