Arrested for murder and bombing attacks in Sweden

A Swedish gang leader has been extradited from Greece to Sweden and is facing multiple serious charges, including murder, kidnapping, and bomb attacks.

Ildar Galiyev, a 26-year-old gang leader known as "Scar," was extradited from Greece to Sweden after being arrested in June 2024. He is currently facing a total of 20 serious charges, including two murders, attempted murder, kidnapping, and serious breaches of weapon laws. His significant criminal history includes involvement in a 2021 murder and a series of violent crimes that have sparked public concern in Sweden.

One of the major allegations against Galiyev is his suspected involvement in the murder of a 16-year-old and a bombing incident in Hässelby in March 2023, as well as a bombing attack in Uppsala in September 2023, which resulted in the death of a 24-year-old woman. The Södertörn District Court has confirmed his detention, emphasizing the severity of the crimes associated with the Dalennettverket gang, which operates in southern Stockholm.

The arrest and extradition of Galiyev highlights ongoing issues with gang violence in Sweden, particularly in urban areas. Swedish authorities are under pressure to address the growing problem of organized crime and its impact on communities. Galiyev's case not only sheds light on the violent activities of gangs but also raises questions about public safety and the measures necessary to combat such criminal organizations effectively.
