Han Byeong-do: "Jang Dong-hyuk, who owns six houses, even summons his mother to maintain illicit income privilege"
Han Byeong-do criticized Jang Dong-hyuk for using his mother to defend against allegations of maintaining his privileged real estate status.
Han Byeong-do, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, condemned Jang Dong-hyuk of the People Power Party for attempting to uphold his privileged status through real estate by involving his mother in the political discourse. During a policy coordination meeting on the 19th, Han pointed out that Jang, who owns six properties in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions, was creating false narratives and misinformation that undermined President Yoon's efforts. He expressed disappointment over Jang's irresponsible behavior and highlighted that such actions would only lead to public frustration and disillusionment.
Moreover, Han criticized Jang's use of social media to stir controversy during the Lunar New Year, particularly a post featuring a photo of his mother's home, claiming that it was directly linked to the President's comments. Han asserted that Jang's attempts to paint a picture of oppression and concern for his mother were simply distractions from his defense against real estate allegations, which included claims of significant profits anticipated from major housing investments. The public, according to Han, should not be misled by Jang's so-called 'fake news' tactics.
In conjunction with addressing real estate issues, Han reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating legislative reforms related to people's livelihoods, emphasizing the urgency of pending bills such as the Child Allowance Act, and expressing readiness to confront any delays instigated by the opposition party. His remarks indicate a broader strategy from the Democratic Party to shift the narrative around housing issues and push for constructive reforms in the political sphere.
