Drug dealer uses smoke to try to evade police during pursuit in Paraná; VIDEO

A drug dealer attempted to evade the Federal Highway Police in Paraná by using a smoke-emitting device during a chase, ultimately leading to the discovery of over 500 kilograms of marijuana in his abandoned vehicle.

In a dramatic police pursuit in Paraná, a drug dealer tried to escape from the Federal Highway Police (PRF) by deploying a smoke-emitting device attached to his vehicle during the chase. The incident began around 3:30 AM when the driver ignored police commands to stop. The police pursued the vehicle for approximately five kilometers as the driver attempted to hinder the officers’ visibility with smoke from his exhaust.

The PRF officers took decisive action by puncturing the fleeing vehicle's tires with a tire deflator to bring it to a halt. Once the vehicle stopped, the driver fled into the vegetation along the highway, abandoning the car. Despite a search for the suspect, he was not located. Upon inspecting the abandoned vehicle, police discovered a significant amount of marijuana, totaling 503 kilograms, and also found that the car was registered with false plates. The original license plates were later discovered hidden inside the vehicle.

This incident highlights ongoing issues with drug trafficking in Brazil, particularly in regions where police confront organized crime. The use of smoke to obscure visibility during a police chase illustrates the lengths to which criminals will go to evade law enforcement. The case has been referred to the Civil Police for further investigation, underscoring the collaborative efforts required to combat drug-related crimes in the country.
